In this budget, the Government of Punjab allocated Rs 9,000 million for the Kisan card it was offering to the farmers. It may be noted that a Kisan Card is being provided to those farmers who have more than 12.5 acres of land. Similarly, the government of Punjab has also initiated steps for the benefit of farmers that offices have been opened in 136 districts of Punjab through which poor farmers can easily obtain their Kissan Card. This will help the farmers that they will not face any type of problem at all while getting a Kissan Card and can get their card by visiting the office opened up in their district.
Under the Kissan Card scheme, an applicant, after receiving the card, will be eligible to draw an amount of Rs 30,000 per acre of land that can be used to purchase anything required to start cultivating on that piece of land such as seeds, fertilizers, medicines, etc.
