Punjab Government Launches New Internship Program For Farmers

A wonderful opportunity was presented to the young minds of Pakistan by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on November 15. A great focus on agriculture by the chief minister and major steps for its further development led to the inception of Aqua shrimp farming internship programs.

The provincial deputy speaker of Punjab, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, would lead the internship programs for young graduates with degrees in Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Zoology in shrimp farming.

Six-month internship at a shrimp farm in Muzaffargarh

To this end, a new aquaculturer will be appointed on an internship position in the Shrimp Farm, Fisheries department, Muzaffargarh for a period of six months. For this appointment, fresh experience will be considered in a candidate. These programs will not only polish the skills but also develop an expert handle for the trainees.
The government also aimed at aquaculture boosting in Pakistan by producing more aquaculture output to meet the international demand for this.

Shrimp on 100,000 acres

Shrimp cultivation is an excellent economic benefit. She will develop over a billion dollars in output by using only 100,000 acres. She will make barren land productive and profitable and turn it into shrimp aquaculture, which helps to stimulate the economy. She adds barren deserted land in South Punjab to the project of shrimp aquaculture.

Allowance of $50,000 for the aquaculture interns

The Punjab government will pay the new aquatic farming trainees 50,000 rupees per month for six months of training so that they can run their expenses and their households and develop their aquaculture experience.

Maryam Nawaz said, “Graduates with degrees in aquaculture, zoology, and fisheries will receive shrimp aqua farming training and a stipend of Rs 50,000.”

Sourcing 10,000 To 20,000 Internship Jobs

Within the Aqua Tiger Prawn Farming scheme, aquaculturists and investors will be provided with leased land, incentives, and necessary equipment to augment shrimp farming. Some 10,000 to 20,000 youths will be engaged in productive employment with the implementation of this project.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated in a statement, “Shrimp is in great demand worldwide.” The scheme appears to be focused on developing self-employment among the youth so that they are financially independent and self-reliant.

Online Application Portal

The youth who have a graduation degree in aquaculture, fishery, and zoology fields can apply for the Aqua Shrimp Farming Internship Program through the official online portal of the agricultural department.
